Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
